Well, 2008 was a busy year, at least in the news but hopefully moreso in the R&D lab for EEStor Inc. We heard all about the EEStor - Zenn partnership, and many of us would have bought Zenn vehicles - if the much promised battery had made it off the shelf and onto the streets. We've been waiting for concrete news of an imminent product release since 2007, but EEStor just has to have us wait. With this much blog and news hype combined with the low profile EEStor has tried to keep, we'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt that the battery technology is just about ready to be revealed to the world. It's not often we get to put our hands on a truly disruptive technology, but it seems every other day we get news the latest and greatest promise is an empty-headed, underfunded, over-hyped bit of vapor.
We stride into 2009 with the same anxiety to see EEStor ultracapicitors or capacitors ready for installation in Zenn vehicles. But if that doesn't materialize - we realize the automotive industry is in an uprecedented state of turmoil and will be for quite some time - we look for any application of EEStor technology for the consumer. Imagine a laptop that runs for a week on a single charge? Pipe dream? Not if EEStor has done their homework!
